Christenings

Today i went to my little cousins christening and i thought it would be a great opportunity to blog so here i am. The service started at 12:30pm just after the Sunday service and it ran smoothly, Corey was on his best behaviour in his little christening outfit, even if he did look like the marshmallow man from Ghostbusters haha! Afterwards we went to a little venue by the lakeside and had some drinks and a BBQ, it was a really lovely day for it even if it were a little windy.

To start off with my black and white Kate Middleton inspired dress is from Romwe, It is a cheap and in my opinion a so much more prettier alternative for the Topshop one that they had in not too long ago. My chunky platform nude and black heels are from Topshop and i am so glad i was able to show these off once again as i hadn't worn them since prom, even if i can still barely walk in them they add a little splash of colour to my outfit. The white frilly socks that i decided to pair with them are also, of course, from Topshop. My simple black clutch with a bow like detailing is from Accessorize, the fact that it is black which is such a universal colour means that i can pair this with almost any nighttime or casual outfit. My silver ring is from Pandora and my simple silver banded watch is from Gucci. I also kept my nail varnish quite simple with Barry M's "Nude" which just so happens to be one of my go to nail varnishes at the moment.

Tangy Tangerine

Hello everyone, i'm so sorry i haven't posted on here for a while i have been drowning in college work for the past couple of weeks and i simply couldn't find any time to do it.

But here i am about to do my first review on a nail polish i picked up yesterday from Boots for a mere £2.99. Boots are offering a "buy one get one half price" deal on at the moment and i just couldn't resist getting this much needed nail polish and a few more bits and bobs. This is in the colour "Tangy Tangerine" by Rimmel London's lasting finish collection. Orange is my most favoured must have colour at the moment and i just couldn't pass getting this exquisite shade. This nail polish is supposedly suppose to give you a "lasting finish" to your nails and i have to say i applied this to my nails yesterday and as of yet there is not a chip in sight. I a applied two coats and instantly the colour was opaque and glossy almost no need for a top coat. This is my second nail varnish that i have purchased from this collection and i have to say i will be wondering back into boots and utilising their buy one get one half price deal to buy many more!

Thank you for reading!

Re enrollment and Costa

Today i re enrolled at college which was all a bit of a kerfuffle once again, things can never go smoothly for me i tell you. Anyway, afterwards my Grandparents decided to treat me to a Costa coffee where i had my usual small hot chocolate and cream which is simply divine i have to say. Next i went on the hunt for a new sketchbook for my A2 photography course but i somehow ended up in USC and i couldn't resist a few little bargains.

Today i went for a very 60's vibe i feel with keeping my outfit pretty much all monochrome which is what i am loving at the moment. The loose fitting white cropped cami that i am wearing is an essential in my eyes and is from Topshop, a girl cannot have enough cami's. My lovely nautical-esque black and white stripped skater skirt is from River island and was a steal for a mere £10. The bag that i have paired with my outfit today is my beloved floral print Cath Kidston bag that i feel i can pair with almost anything in one way or another. I thought i would give my outfit a bit of colour by wearing my pink maxi Juju jellies that are slowly becoming my new favourite shoes to just sling on.

Finally my nail varnish is the usual "Blueberry" by Barry M which i thought would give my look that bit more colour along with my shoes. And my ring is my precious Pandora ring that i got for my birthday.

Cinemas and spontaneous dinners

I went out with two of my friends yesterday for a lovely trip to the cinema and a spontaneous meal out for dinner. I thought i would keep my outfit quite casual and still in keeping with what is left of this summers trends.

I knew from the beginning that i wished to wear my lovely long grey marl maxi skirt that i purchased sometime last year in the Newlook sale so i worked my outfit around that particular piece. I then decided on piecing it together with this very nautical navy stripped slouchy boyfriend tee from Primark that was an absolute steal. This top originally had the sleeves rolled up but i am not much of a fan of that trend so i decided to unpick them to make this top more me. My bag of choice is my Dorothy Perkins brown satchel that gave this outfit more of a relaxed vibe to it i feel. On my feet i have my trusty Topshop Martina t-bar geek shoes that i am practically living in at the moment.

Seeing as my shoes have a gold buckle on i thought i would inkeep with the gold theme with my jewellery too by wearing my DIY midi rings and this chunky adorable jade ring from Topshop. To finish off my nail varnish is also a DIY job on my behalf and is a mixture of Barry M's "Red wine" and "Yellow"

Antique shopping

Today i took a trip to a few antique places to have a root around at what treasures i could find, also i explored some cute little shabby chic shops that sold shed loads of candle holders and just everything that i adore in life. I ended up buying a candle holder and a vintage looking cologne bottle that fit perfectly into my
bedroom.

I went for a very retro monochrome look today with my outfit keeping it quite simple by only wearing black and white. This simple in style black and white striped skater dress is a must have in your wardrobe as stripes are very in at the moment. I bought this dress in the sale from USC for an absolute steal of a mere £5, i also have it in mint green as i was obsessed with the style of the dress i just couldn't resist buying it in a different colour. I decided on pairing this dress with a simple thin black belt with a gold buckle to break it up a bit. The hardest decision i have to make is what shoes to wear with an outfit and i am always very indecisive about it but today i reached straight for my black heeled Juju jellies from Urban outfitters as i thought they would in keep with the monochrome and yesteryear outfit.
I opted for gold jewellery today as my belt has some gold detailing on it, my midi rings are a DIY job from some old gold jewellery making wire i had lying around and my gold pearl encrusted ring was handed down to me from my mum. The nail varnish that i am wearing is "Berry" by Barry M.

Off to the cinema

My brother decided to take me to the cinema to see the spine chilling "The Conjuring" yesterday and i have to admit it even had me jumping out of my seat on occasions. It was very slow moving i found in various points of the film and kept tip toeing around the point a little but the denouement was very eerie and blood sodden. Overall i thought the film was excellent if you want to be poised on the edge of your seat and have your adrenaline pumping.

I decided to keep my outfit quite laid back and informal as spectacularly the sun made a bit of an appearance yesterday in England and it was quite warm. So i decided on this pastel purple midi dress from Topshop that i purchased sometime last summer and paired it with this slouchy casual jumper from H&M. I always find midi or maxi dresses to be somewhat too formal to wear to certain places such as to the cinema but paired with an over sized jumper or cardigan it transforms into something quite easy going and informal. On my feet i am wearing my trusty Topshop Martina t-bar geek shoes which i think fit practically any outfit for any occasion. To finish off this outfit i chose my brown satchel from Dorothy Perkins.

The rings that i am wearing are (from top to bottom) my chunky midi retro ring from Silver, my Nan's vintage ring that i did a bit of DIY on, and the other two are both from various French market's. Finally the nail varnish that i am wearing is Barry M's "Berry".

How i style: Pink Jellies

I recently bought these baby pink Juju jellies from Asos, i already have a pair of the black heeled ones so i thought i would give the maxi ones a go too. I found them a little tricky to style at first but when i sat down in front of my wardrobe for a while i started to visually picture pieces that would compliment them greatly.

My first look is quite dressy and girly, with these shoes being baby pink i thought i would utilise this and keep with the girly theme by pairing them with this denim-esque smock baby doll dress that i purchased recently from the Topshop sale. I also decided on adding some frilly cream socks from Topshop to give this outfit a real cutesy feel to it.

My next look is more laid back and more dressed down compared to the first. I decided on a pair of these cotton santina black and white paisley print trousers from Missguided and paired them with this loose fitting grey top from H&M. With the top and bottoms being a mix of greys, blacks and whites i thought that these jelly shoes would give this outfit a splash of colour and make the overall look a little different but still in keeping with the casualness that i wished to create.

The ring that i am wearing in both of my outfits is a silver ring from Pandora and the nail varnish that i am wearing is called "Blueberry" by Barry M.
