Cinemas and spontaneous dinners

I went out with two of my friends yesterday for a lovely trip to the cinema and a spontaneous meal out for dinner. I thought i would keep my outfit quite casual and still in keeping with what is left of this summers trends.

I knew from the beginning that i wished to wear my lovely long grey marl maxi skirt that i purchased sometime last year in the Newlook sale so i worked my outfit around that particular piece. I then decided on piecing it together with this very nautical navy stripped slouchy boyfriend tee from Primark that was an absolute steal. This top originally had the sleeves rolled up but i am not much of a fan of that trend so i decided to unpick them to make this top more me. My bag of choice is my Dorothy Perkins brown satchel that gave this outfit more of a relaxed vibe to it i feel. On my feet i have my trusty Topshop Martina t-bar geek shoes that i am practically living in at the moment.

Seeing as my shoes have a gold buckle on i thought i would inkeep with the gold theme with my jewellery too by wearing my DIY midi rings and this chunky adorable jade ring from Topshop. To finish off my nail varnish is also a DIY job on my behalf and is a mixture of Barry M's "Red wine" and "Yellow"

Antique shopping

Today i took a trip to a few antique places to have a root around at what treasures i could find, also i explored some cute little shabby chic shops that sold shed loads of candle holders and just everything that i adore in life. I ended up buying a candle holder and a vintage looking cologne bottle that fit perfectly into my
bedroom.

I went for a very retro monochrome look today with my outfit keeping it quite simple by only wearing black and white. This simple in style black and white striped skater dress is a must have in your wardrobe as stripes are very in at the moment. I bought this dress in the sale from USC for an absolute steal of a mere £5, i also have it in mint green as i was obsessed with the style of the dress i just couldn't resist buying it in a different colour. I decided on pairing this dress with a simple thin black belt with a gold buckle to break it up a bit. The hardest decision i have to make is what shoes to wear with an outfit and i am always very indecisive about it but today i reached straight for my black heeled Juju jellies from Urban outfitters as i thought they would in keep with the monochrome and yesteryear outfit.
I opted for gold jewellery today as my belt has some gold detailing on it, my midi rings are a DIY job from some old gold jewellery making wire i had lying around and my gold pearl encrusted ring was handed down to me from my mum. The nail varnish that i am wearing is "Berry" by Barry M.

Off to the cinema

My brother decided to take me to the cinema to see the spine chilling "The Conjuring" yesterday and i have to admit it even had me jumping out of my seat on occasions. It was very slow moving i found in various points of the film and kept tip toeing around the point a little but the denouement was very eerie and blood sodden. Overall i thought the film was excellent if you want to be poised on the edge of your seat and have your adrenaline pumping.

I decided to keep my outfit quite laid back and informal as spectacularly the sun made a bit of an appearance yesterday in England and it was quite warm. So i decided on this pastel purple midi dress from Topshop that i purchased sometime last summer and paired it with this slouchy casual jumper from H&M. I always find midi or maxi dresses to be somewhat too formal to wear to certain places such as to the cinema but paired with an over sized jumper or cardigan it transforms into something quite easy going and informal. On my feet i am wearing my trusty Topshop Martina t-bar geek shoes which i think fit practically any outfit for any occasion. To finish off this outfit i chose my brown satchel from Dorothy Perkins.

The rings that i am wearing are (from top to bottom) my chunky midi retro ring from Silver, my Nan's vintage ring that i did a bit of DIY on, and the other two are both from various French market's. Finally the nail varnish that i am wearing is Barry M's "Berry".

How i style: Pink Jellies

I recently bought these baby pink Juju jellies from Asos, i already have a pair of the black heeled ones so i thought i would give the maxi ones a go too. I found them a little tricky to style at first but when i sat down in front of my wardrobe for a while i started to visually picture pieces that would compliment them greatly.

My first look is quite dressy and girly, with these shoes being baby pink i thought i would utilise this and keep with the girly theme by pairing them with this denim-esque smock baby doll dress that i purchased recently from the Topshop sale. I also decided on adding some frilly cream socks from Topshop to give this outfit a real cutesy feel to it.

My next look is more laid back and more dressed down compared to the first. I decided on a pair of these cotton santina black and white paisley print trousers from Missguided and paired them with this loose fitting grey top from H&M. With the top and bottoms being a mix of greys, blacks and whites i thought that these jelly shoes would give this outfit a splash of colour and make the overall look a little different but still in keeping with the casualness that i wished to create.

The ring that i am wearing in both of my outfits is a silver ring from Pandora and the nail varnish that i am wearing is called "Blueberry" by Barry M.

Out for lunch

My grandparents were treating me to my lunch out today at a nice little country pub and i just couldn't resist making the most of the sunshine we have left by wearing shorts and bare legs. This look is very casual and perfect for the weather.

I am wearing my polka dot jersey shorts from Soulcal which were in the sale at USC and in trend for this summer with the likes of Zara bringing out various patterns and colours of the same short design. I have paired these shorts with a basic cropped cami from Topshop which has also been one of my summer staples as it can be paired with almost everything in my wardrobe. As there was a slight chill in the air today i put on this patterned over blouse which is a hand me down from my Nan. My delicious looking boots are from Schuh and they are bang on with the studded boot trend sweeping the fashion world and with them being black they are compatible with almost any outfit. I kept my jewellery quite minimum today with this vintage pink crystal necklace no earrings and two rings. The ring on my middle finger is from a French market and the other is from Silver.

There is my basic quite minimal but with a splash of pattern outfit for going out for lunch. I am now going to soak up the rest of today's rays outside with Stephen Kings "Pet Sematary".

(P.s my cat couldn't resist jumping into a few of the shots)

The 90's revived

Since the heat wave and sun has now ceased a little in England i thought i would bring out my much loved vintage Levi 550's once again. I got these jeans from Ebay for a mere £17 but they were originally from Urban outfittersI decided to combine these versatile pair of jeans with this cropped jersey tee from Topshop, seeing as this seasons must have trends have been high waisted bottoms and cropped tops.

The main focus of this casual outfit for me is the shoes, these are the Juju heeled jellies from Urban outfittersthese are also a this season must have bring back not only a sense of nostalgia for people of my age but also bang on with the vintage trend that is sweeping the fashion industry. Not only that but these sandals give off a very 90's vibe that i was after when piecing together this outfit but also it keeps this ensemble still on the verge of summer. To also grasp the 90's feel i decided to style my hair half up half down adding a scrunchie to complete the hair style.

My favourite nail varnish at the moment that i am wearing with this outfit is from Barry m and it is called "blueberry". I thought i would keep my jewelry quite simple and went for this antique-esque ring that i picked up from a French market.

My new Schuh's

I purchased these lovely "Liquorice lace up" shoes from the Schuh website, they were in the sale for a mere £15 and if you ask me a wardrobe must have. The size runs up true so no need to downsize or upsize in this particular shoe and also i noticed when i wore them for the first time there was no need to break them in as they didn't rub at all.

They are black which is a key feature to this shoe as it makes it extremely versatile to match any outfit. The chunkiness of the heel along with the platform gives these shoes a new edge to them and a unique quality. Another reason as to why these are dexterous is because they can be dressed either up or down depending on where you would like to wear them. These shoes to me give off a very Wednesday Addams vibe so that is why i think they would be perfect to style with a very Kate Middleton-esque dress that is a black baby doll style and has a white collar detailing. Socks or without socks either way these shoes look chic and stylish, if you were to however wear socks i would recommend frilly ones much like the coral ones shown above from Topshop.

I can tell that these shoes will already be my favourites for the upcoming autumn. I hope you've enjoyed this post and thank you for reading
